Cobeco Pharma announces the release of the first erotic stimulants allowed on the market in Italy. Four sexual stimulants were successfully registered with Italian authorities (Ministeria della Salute). Extensive research, correspondence and patience have finally paid off.

So far there is no difference between legislation in Italy and the Netherlands. However the EU Food Supplement Directive gave member states the option to implement a notification system before admitting products into their markets. The Netherlands had not opted for such a notification system, but Italy did. This means that every food supplement has to be registered at the Ministeria della Salute before admission onto the Italian market.

The Italian regulation defines the term “food supplement” and introduces a list of substances that may be used as sources of vitamins and minerals in the manufacturing of food supplements. Next were requirements/indications set out for labeling in addition to already existing legislation.
